Getting to UMBC campus:

The UMBC campus is located three miles outside Baltimore city limits in the town of Catonsville. Located just 15 minutes from Baltimore’s famous Inner Harbor and less than 60 minutes from Washington D.C, UMBC is within a stone’s throw away from the two major cities in the area. Given its close proximity to these major cities, there are a number of options if one wants to visit us.

Airports: UMBC is close to three major airports. The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is just five minutes away from UMBC campus. Further, both Dulles International Airport and the Reagan Domestic Airport in Washington D.C are about an hour away.

Train: AMTRAK and Baltimore Light Rail stations (BWI Airport and BWI Business District) is less than five minutes away from campus. In addition, the MARC Penn Line serves the UMBC population at Halethorpe Station, which is located approximately two miles away on Southwestern Boulevard in Arbutus, Maryland. The Halethorpe/Satellite bus transit line transports students to and from the train station.

Bus: The Maryland Transit Administration offers several bus services to the UMBC community. Bus lines 35, 77, and 95 offer service to the campus.

UMBC Campus Transit: UMBC has several bus shuttle lines that are available to UMBC’s students, faculty, and staff. These shuttle lines provide transportation options between UMBC campus and neighboring communities, Baltimore city and other regional transportation hubs.
